Templeton Farm Wins Award for Outstanding Maple Syrup

At the end of the maple sugaring season a festival is held each year in St. Albans Vermont, north of Burlington and close to the Canadian border called the Vermont Maple Festival. It is one of the top 10 events of the year in Vermont and is an event to celebrate maple sugaring in the state. The festival features parades, dances, concerts, maple sugaring equipment and every type of maple related food known to mankind (not an event to attend if you are on a diet). This year our good friends and maple helpers Dennis and Diane who live near St. Albans felt that some of our dark amber grade maple syrup was the best they ever had. So I said maybe we should enter the maple syrup contest at the Maple Festival to see if it really is the best. So Diane went the local Extension Service Office filled out the paperwork and submitted the Templeton Farm entry along with 112 other farms from around the State of Vermont. The day before the event was to take place Janet received a phone call from the event's organizers indicating our farm had won the festival competition for the dark amber grade of maple syrup and asked us to attend the Maple Festival celebration banquet to receive our award. I have to say we were very proud to have competed with so many other farms from around the state and come out as winners. What a great way to end our 28th year of sugaring here at our farm. I have included a few pictures taken at the festival.

All the Best,
Bruce, Janet, Ryan, Seth and Natalie
